KEY to hockey TOTALS, yes,or no

There is a secret to betting NHL O/U's if you go look I am #1 in NHL OU's.If you look again I won the NL O/U's @ wgerline in 2000,and if you look again I am the alltime leader with over 1100 totals played. It is simple. Anytime you get a line that for example says 5o bet the under,because you get +money to win even odds to lose. Whenever you get a line of say 5u play the over for the same reason. O/U's in hockey are a crap shoot. If you are playing them with + odds you will win. I have hit only 52% in over 1100 plays but am up 28K!!!! That is the same 28K that you would be paying on 52% winners in any other sport.

kid: perhaps list the record of all total RESULTS when betting over 5.0 even or better and under 5.0 even or better. three years should be sufficient.

One item that must be take into consideration
when evaluating posters at certain sites
like wagerline, is something known as
"survivorship bias".With thousands of
people posting records at wagerline, there
are a few who are bound to post outstanding
records over a large sample size regardless
of skill.For example,there's one dude over
at wagerline selecting college hoops who is
batting 57% over 800 picks THIS SEASON.that's
right, those 800 bets are just for this season.
I also question whether "wagerline" updates
their odds promptly,so people could be making
selections against very advantageous lines.
Not to say the information posted isn't
valuable,but one should be wary given the
problems noted above.

Not passing merits on this system but just reporting the results from last season....

I have only included games lined 5 as the poster did not mention anything regarding 4.5,5.5,6 etc.....

Overs 57-56-34 +6.8 units

Unders 52-54-31 +2.55 units

Notes:

I have used Olympic's closing lines for the bulk of these results so its possible other plays existed at various times prior to close and their performance is not included obviously. In addition a better result should have been had by shopping for better lines and not just using this one book.

I personally don't subscibe to the "crap shoot" theory which maintains all results are purely random.

binomial distribution flukes,as you seem to
surmise in reaction to my previous post.i
was trying to caution that not all results
are statistically meaningful,and could be much
more noise than signal.
As for shopping improving the roi of the
above angle,i have my doubts in this case as
line movement could change one's bet.
For example, if a game is lined O-20 early,then
the line moves to U -20 this would change one's
wager.one would have to account for such factors
in figuring the worth of this particular angle.

maria you have many valid points. i do not know how true the lines are.
example at the other site was the sandiego game playing st mary's they had st mary's -6 instead of plus 6. maria , link was very entertaining, some classic lines in there.
